At Bradenton Family Wellness we believe a balanced family is a happy one! That's why we love offering acupuncture to the little humans, as well as adults!
Chinese medicine has been successfully treating little ones for thousands of years. Their treatment is pretty different from that of an adult because children respond to acupuncture, Chinese herbs and Tui Na much faster than adults. Their uniquely responsive body systems (digestion, immune, and respiratory mainly) are still developing so treatments may change frequently as well.
Pediatric Tui Na
Pediatric Tuina is a gentle type of Chinese massage developed especially for treating kids. It is a super effective (and feel good!) way of stimulating meridians and acupuncture points which does not require the use of any tools. If parents wish to enhance the effect of the treatments we will teach them some of these techniques that would not only help speed up the healing but also provide some quality one on one parent-child time.
Shonioshin
Shonishin is a noninvasive Japanese practice of acupressure for pediatric patients. This method uses metal tools to gently rub, tap and scrape the body in order to stimulate acupuncture points and meridians without penetrating the skin.
